Exploring Etohsa

Exploring Etohsa

We sat in our rental car, mesmerized by the abundant wildlife around us. As we watched the ostriches, zebras, springbok, and oryx go about their morning routines, we grew in appreciation for the invisible order of nature that unfolded before our eyes. We had finally gotten into the swing of our self-drive safari in Etosha.

We drove through nearly ten watering holes trying to cover as much ground as possible in our brief two-day visit to Etosha National Park. While we still enjoyed exploring we felt utterly exhausted by the end of our first day.

Rather than chasing more gravel, we took our time at fewer spots and actually spotted more animals! We felt more relaxed, and I especially loved the look of awe on the face of my wildlife loving sister as she watched the animals for hours at a time.
